Overview

This course will provide participants with an overview of Business Continuity Management (BCM) and explore the key principles and practical issues of implementing a BCM program. Upon completion of this course,participants will:

  • Understand the key principles of BCM
  • Gain an understanding of BCM System and how it can be used to implement an effective BCM program

  • What is a BCM System (BCMS)
  • Overview of Australian and ISO standards on BCM and how they can guide implementation of BCM
  • Developing the BCM Policy and managing the BCM program
  • Conduct business impact analysis (BIA) and risk assessments
  • Identifying business continuity requirements and strategies
  • Developing the business continuity response plans
  • Exercising and testing the plans
  • Reviewing and maintaining the plans

Instructor

Kenny is a Partner at Riskwest and a Director of the Australasian Chapter of the Business Continuity Institute. He has over 23 years of international experience in emergency management, business continuity and crisis management in banking, securities, logistics and government. Kenny conducts BCM training regularly and has trained over 2,000 senior managers and executives from public and private sector organisations. He is a BCI Approved Instructor and qualified ISO 22301 Lead Auditor and Trainer.
