25 Feb Book Recommendation
We recommend reading ‘Preventing Chaos in a Crisis’ by Patrick Lagadec. Although an older text, the book is split into three sections ‘What is a crisis?’, ‘How do you manage a crisis?’ and ‘How do you develop a learning process for the individuals, teams, and organisations involved, in order to prevent crises?’. Not originally written in English, the book was translated by Jocelyn M Phelps and remains a practical text that extended the concepts first explored in ‘States of Emergency’ – a series of interviews undertaken by Lagadec in the late 1980s with State and non-State actors who had experienced crisis’.
